Independence Day Fireworks and Celebrations across Delmarva

As we enter this Independence Day weekend, we have so much to be thankful for, and one of those things would be that life and events are beginning to look a little more normal. After missing out on so many annual celebrations in 2020, this year, take the time to enjoy the July 4th celebrations all across Delmarva. We appreciate our country's freedoms and the wonderful community we live in!

Where will you go to watch the brilliant fireworks displayed this weekend?

Here is a quick list of suggested options all across Delmarva, organized by date and location so you can plan your viewing.

July 3rd, Saturday:

Berlin: Heron Park at dusk, 10009 Old Ocean City Boulevard. 

Cape May-Lewes Ferry: July 3rd Fireworks Cruise, 6:45-11 p.m., aboard the Cape May-Lewes Ferry. For for tickets and information, visit https://www.eventbrite.com/e/fireworks-cruise-on-the-cape-may-lewes-ferry-tickets-158147490401 

Crisfield: Somers Cove Marina at 9 p.m. Hosted by the American Legion. For info call 410-968-2415.

Hebron: Hebron Carnival Grounds at dusk. 

Oxford: The Strand at dusk. Sponsored by the Tred Avon Yacht Club.

Rehoboth Beach: Musical performances by The Funsters at the Bandstand will begin at 8 p.m. and continue after the fireworks display. Fireworks will launch around 9:30 p.m.

St. Michaels: The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum open 5-10 p.m., 213 N. Talbot Street. Fireworks will launch after dusk, and the event is hosted by the St. Michaels Fire Department. The CBMM’s campus and facilities will be open to the public free of charge starting at 5 p.m., and you are welcome to bring your own food and drink. Rain date has been set for July 4.

July 4th, Sunday:

Cambridge: Fireworks start at dusk, around 9:15 p.m. on Cambridge waterfront in Cambridge. Suggested fireworks viewing areas are Gerry Boyle Park at Great Marsh, 1 Somerset Ave. and at Long Wharf Park, High Street and Water Street.

Chester: Annual Fireworks & Family Fun Celebration begins at 6pm at the Chesapeake Heritage Center, 425 Piney Narrows Road Free parking will be at the old Kent Narrows Factory Outlets and Kent Narrows public-parking areas. 

Dover: Legislative Hall at dusk. Tours, food, music and more from 9 a.m.- 9:20 p.m.

Easton: Fireworks show at dusk. Suggested viewing area: Easton Carnival grounds, 28539 Marlboro Ave. (behind Target). 

Lewes: Lewes Independence Day Boat Parade, begins at 2pm.Fireworks will launch at dusk from a barge off of Lewes Beach. For more info visit: https://gofourthlewes.org/

Ocean City: Fireworks start at 9.30 p.m. downtown on the beach and also at Northside Park on 125th Street. For more info call the Ocean City Department of Recreation & Parks at 410-250-0125.

Ocean Pines: Veterans Memorial Park at 5-8:30 p.m., 11144 Cathell Road. For more info, call 410-641-7052.

Salisbury: Red White and BOOM at James M. Bennett High School on College Avenue. Gates open at 6 p.m., fireworks begin around 9:15 p.m. http://redwhiteboomsalisbury.org/

July 5th-10th:

Bethany Beach: Monday, July 5, 9:15 p.m. Fireworks Launch from the beach off of Wellington Parkway.

Greensboro: Friday, July 9, fireworks launch at dusk; Greensboro VFC Community Hall & Carnival Grounds.

Laurel: Saturday, July 10, Starting at dusk, rain date: July 11. Note: The town originally scheduled its Independence Day fireworks event for July 3, but issues with the town's fireworks distributor led to a postponement.
